5 things: 'scary' beauty products

As I'm always looking around for new ideas to blog about, I constantly see products that I'm wishing to tell you about but I just don't know how.
Recently I've seen quite some bloggers who choose to talk about '5 things', and I think that's a nice thing to do with beauty products too.

So today I've decided to tell you about 5 lovely products which seem 'scary' at first, but actually turn out to be life-changing.

  1. First there's the everlasting BB cream. Mine is the Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector which is a lovely subtle BB cream that you can wear everyday to give your face a fresher look or as a base for the rest of your make-up. I really think BB cream is a product people should consider using on a daily basis. First I see people who arrive to school on Monday morning looking so pale, tired and you can really spot every little less good detail of their face. Those people should really get a subtle BB cream in their skin tone and just put it on in the morning - it just takes you 2 minutes...
  2. Next, I would like to set the myth of the so-said clumsy gel liner straight. When my mum bought this Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner for me, I had no idea how to use it. I had never even used a normal liquid eyeliner, so I set aside the gel and started experimenting with 'easier' types of eyeliner. Which really helped, because when I ran out of my Urban Decay liquid liner, I was obliged to use the gel liner and I really found that it went a lot better when you have a bit of eyeliner-expierence. And now I couldn't live without it.
  3. Another addition to my beautycase that has made the difference for a long time already, are primers. For now I've only got an eye primer (Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion that came with my Ammo Palette) and a lip primer (MAC Prep + Prime) and I can't put on eyeshadow or lipstick without a primer anymore. It just makes everything so much easier! It gives you a perfect, even base to apply your make-up. I've tried a face primer sample once and if I ever have some extra money and nothing to spend it on, I might buy that too!
  4. It looks like a murdering tool or something doctors would use, but actually it's a very handy make-up tool: the eyelash curler. Mine is from a local perfume store, but almost all beauty brand have them in their collection. The Sephora Eyelash Curlers in 5 cute colours, for instance. Curling your lashes makes your face look a lot more awake and really makes your eyes shine. Add a little bit of quality mascara to top it off. And you're really not going to hurt yourself with it, just make sure you place the curler on your lashes.
  5. To end, a product I heard a lot of good reviews about before I bought one myself recently: the lipliner. I own the MAC Lip Pencil in Cherry and it's really helpful to top off your look with a matte lipstick in a colour that looks alike (which is Ruby Woo for me). As matte lipsticks are really hard to apply, it's an easy trick to fill in your lips with lipliner first, not only to ease the appliance of the lipstick, but also to make your lipstick last longer. And it just makes me feel glamorous, too. Mheh.

Do you use any of these and have you been afraid to buy them before?
