Dark violet lipstick: it's superhot, superfancy and superhard to combine! Anneleen and I created a look using MAC Rebel (which, for some reason, did not want to appear as violet on camera as it is in real life!) and want to show you what we think looks best with this shade!
With this lipstick, your mouth will be the first thing people will notice. So focus on those lips! The key in a look with a special lip colour is to keep the rest simple, but also to use colours that go well with your lips.

That's why we've chosen to tint Anne's eyes lighter, using the shade Venus from my Urban Decay Naked Basics palette. I think this gives a fresh, open look, especially when you add a subtle but very black line to the eyes like we did with the CATRICE Liquid Liner Waterproof in 010 Don't Leave Me!.

As for the cheeks, we searched for a shade that brought some of the pinky/violet colour of the lipstick back, and this turned out to work best with the vibrant pink blush from my Urban Decay Naked on the Run palette. It's a VERY pigmented blush, so my advice is to not use too many and blend it in a bit with some transparent powder after applying.

And of course we topped off with highlighter, using Anneleen's MAC Soft and Gentle which is definetely on my wishlist!!

Overall I think Rebel is a super pretty and fabulous shade and it's also an easy lipstick to apply because of the Satin finish. You should really try it out in the store because it looks much more violet in real than on the photo and even on the swatch. But totally worth checking out!!

MODEL : Anneleen Viaene

How about this lipstick? Would you wear it?
