The perfect base

Finding out what make up products suit me best and how I can create a comfortable, elegant look on my face is something I love to be busy with all the time. Although I love to play with eyeshadow, contouring and bright lipstick, a good base is essential. I recently invested in two products for my base routine that I really wanted: the L'Oréal Paris Accord Parfait fond de teint in Gold Beige and the Urban Decay Naked Weightless complete coverage concealer. It's the perfect base duo for a natural glow.

The new L'Oréal Paris foundation, that promises to adjust to your skintone and blend in well, is really comfortable to wear. It seems like the shade is a little bit too dark when I first apply it to my skin, but it does really blend in very well using a sponge egg. It adjusts perfectly to my skin and it's the perfect base for a day-long teint.

The same thing goes for the concealer. When I apply it, I think it is too light. But that's exactly what you need under your eyes when you want a natural looking base; look for a shade lighter than you'd normally go for. I apply the concealer with the brush in three stripes forming a triangle faced down, and I blend in using the small end of my sponge egg. It covers the bags under my eyes and blemishes without feeling heavy, so the promise of being weightless is really fulfilled.

I use this duo on a daily base, alternating foundation with my Garnier BB cream depending on my need to look flawless, and I've gotten quite some compliments stating "you never seem to have bags under your eyes" and "your skintone always looks so even".

A big recommendation!

What's your perfect base? I'm curious!
