August favourites

It's September already. Summer has really gone by quickly, but to be honest I don't really mind. Autumn is always the season I look most forward to! Looking back at the past month, I have discovered quite some new goodies to add to my stash of favourites. Let's take a look!

First up I completely stepped up my hair styling game with the L'Oréal Professionnel Wild Stylers volumising hairspray. I won't easily complain about it, because I kind of have easy hair to live with, but what bothers me a lot is that my hair can get quite wild but always stays boringly flat at my roots, especially when it's longer and thicker like now. It just doesn't look right to me, and it also really doesn't do the trick to make my face look any better. This product works magic for my complaints! I love to use it loosely in my roots on the last day before washing my hair, a bit as a dry shampoo, or really get it into my hair styling routine when I'm using my SteamPod on the ends and I want some beachy, wild manes on top.

I'm doing something new on the nailpolish part as well! After attending the Essie Gelcouture evening in Brussels I've been trying out these nail polishes and really approving their work! I love the extra gel-kind of touch the top coat gives to my nails, especially when I wear them long and posh. Also the shades in the nail polishes are beautiful, there's really a shade for every occassion and every mood. You can see me use the nail polish for the first time at home in my manicure video!

Working at the Rituals Cosmetics store this Summer has really made me fall in love with their products even more. I've got bits of everything from the store all around the house, in my make-up drawer, skincare collection, in the shower but also I've fallen for the scented candles really hard. My favourites at the moment are the limited edition Karma candle (which is almost leaving!) and the Goji Berry candle from the Private Collection because this one is a really delicate and unique scent that you just can't get anywhere else.

Something I've been using almost on a daily basis is the Sleek Solstice highlighting palette. The powders are gorgeous, you really can't tell that this is a rather budgetproof drugstore buy! I love to use the peachy highlighter on my cheeks and the neutral pale one to highlight places all around my face and shoulders. The violet highlighter is probably one that I'll use more in the Winter months because it doesn't work very well on my bronzed skin and it just doesn't really breathe 'sunkissed', but my godddd it is beautiful! The cream highlighter is not really something I like, the quality is sadly not as good as the powder products!

To finish I finally got my hands on a NYX Lip Lingerie liquid lipstick and I went for number 04 Ruffle Trim - to start with! I am definitely getting more of these because it's an amazing product! It's really worth the hype. I haven't tried much liquid lipsticks, but if you're looking for a stunning matte texture that doesn't feel like you're wearing sandpaper on your lips, go for these. It really gives you a Kylie Jenner lipkit look and it's so soft. And the shades are gorgeous!! I'm longing for Embellishment and Exotic right now.

  1. Everything looks so pretty! I can't believe how fast summer went by either, one minute it was June and the next the beginning of September haha! I adore the NYX lip creams, I'd love to try Ruffle Trim *heart eyes* :D xx
