Genuinely blissful

Life can be tough. It's no big secret, and probably something a lot of people can relate to.

I myself have had my fair share of crappy times. In some way, I only just realise how unhappy I was at a certain moment when I'm at my happiest afterwards. And then I strongly regret not understanding back then how much more well-off I could have been if I'd just let go of some things.

Happiness is in small things. It's brief moments: a walk on the beach, an outburst of laughter, looking for stars under a blanket of Summer skies. But I do believe that all of these small moments can lead to a bigger feeling, a sense of long-term bliss.

Here's a little ode to how joyful I've been feeling in the past months. A small thank you note to the people who've been putting a gigantic smile on my face and whose kind words have helped me through storms of insecurity.

And a huge thank you to the things that made me feel worthless in the past too, because without those I would've never appreciated the love I have in my life today as much as I do now. I've never been this grateful all my life.

To everyone who's going through a hard time: trust your gut. Embrace the flow of life. And never stick to something that doesn't make your heart swell with joy.
