My minimal Summer holiday makeup

What I put on my face for a flawless holiday glow

Picking out what makeup to bring on my Summer holiday was tricky. Once you start stocking up on products – and as a beauty blogger, that’s a thing – it gets really hard to stick to one set routine and thus to know exactly what you like most. I absolutely love everything I own, but I just wanted to take the products with me that would be perfect for a lightweight, flawless and glowy holiday look.

The hardest choice was my base. Especially when the weather is a bit bipolar and switches from chilly to warm and sunny real quick, my complexion seems to change a lot.
I brought two light to medium coverage bases just in case: the YSL Touche Eclat Cushion foundation because of its easy and quick application process, which leaves a good coverage in a very comfortable way. Next to that I also brought the L’Oréal Glam Beige Healthy Glow foundation for a lighter coverage with a more silky application, which blends out really well with my Artis Palm Brush. They’re both super comfortable products to wear but very much unalike, so I’m glad I took both for a bit of a change up now and then.
The L’Oréal Glam Beige foundation is new to my collection and a winner already. The texture is comfortably velvety – very liquid, and although I’m usually more of a cream girl, this one does please me! And the best thing about it is how caring it is for your skin. Not only is it SPF 20, it’s also full of vitamins and flower oils – hence the wonderful fragrance!

Concealer was easily chosen. With the Maybelline The Eraser Eye concealer being back in stores, I found the perfect travel-sized one. The satisfying click to make the product appear on the cushion is one thing, the beautiful pigmentation and healthy formula is another. It’s just so easy to pop some dots of this under my eyes and blend it out with a brush or even my fingertips for a quick and easy dark circle cover-up.

I don’t like to use powder on my face, especially not on holiday, but I did pack the Glam Beige Healthy Glow Powder for little base touch-ups or covering up any disco ball T-zone issues.

I had been doubting really long about either packing a loose blush, bronzer and highlighter or one palette and went for the last option in the end. The Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush Palette is not the most luxurious but very much a versatile palette with a really good bronzer shade, some light blush shades and enough glowy highlighting powders to choose from.

As for the eyes, my trusty Urban Decay Naked Basics palette just had to come with me on trip for its neutral and matte brown shades, which is practically all I wear, and the compact packaging as well. Combined with the L’Oréal Volume Million Lashes mascara. this makes my eye look very simple and easy, and extra comfortable because of the waterproof formula.

I keep it easy on the brows and just brush a bit of the Maybelline Brow Precise Fiber Filler through them for tornado-proof hairs and a tiny bit of extra definition. I got it in Dark Blonde to keep it really natural.

Topping off with a bit of my all-time favourite Dior Lip Sugar scrub for a very nice and moisturized base for any lipstick that I might want to use, or just leave it pink and glossy – and kiss proof! – like that.
