Let’s talk about makeup removers! It’s always been quite an adventure for me to find one that I like. Mostly they’re too strong for my slightly sensitive skin, and full of dirty ingredients that break me out. But I’ve been finding a few that are here to stay and I wanted to share them here with you.
The short-in time superhero
I picked up the Farmacy Green Clean after reading multiple positive reviews, and falling in love over the idea of a ‘makeup meltaway cleansing balm’. This one is great for so many reasons: it dissolves makeup quickly, leaves the skin feeling velvety smooth and it’s a luxurious, green product that I can’t help but to look forward to every night. What a dream!
The ultra-nourishing blend
Although this one works great as a second skin cleanse, I love using it for makeup removal as well. Especially when it’s been a long day and my face feels caked with whatever is on it, leaving me horrified with the thought of clogged pores and dirty skin. Not only does the smell of the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery cleansing oil*make me super calm and happy, the product itself feels purifying on the skin and nourishes deeply. And cleansing oils are just such a treat for your face, no matter its condition!
The one that doesn’t sting your eyes
After having an eye infection once, I am scared to death of anything that comes near my eyes. My peepers also very easily burn and turn bright red when I use certain products. I’ve been on the lookout for a wonder worker to remove waterproof mascara that would not sting my eyes, and the Yves Rocher Express Eye Makeup Remover* appears to be just the one. Just shake the bottle, quench a (reusable) cotton wool pad in the product and swipe off your eye drama – stressless, painless and in no-time.
The drugstore steal
I couldn’t not include the Garnier Micellar Water*. It’s so many people’s favourite, and it’s so cheap! It’s one of the few drugstore products that my skin has been loving for years. I’ve tried several versions of it – there’s plenty! – and right now the one for delicate skin & eyes is rocking my skin care stash.
