My look for the holidays

There’s something about getting ready for a Christmas party. The excitement for the evening to come, the extended pampering, the allowance to go a little bit over the top with a red lip… It has always been one of my favourite parts of the holiday season. As much as I love to just snuggle up on the sofa in yoga pants and no makeup, I do like to do my best to glam up a bit on special days.

Foundation-wise, I keep it minimal. I’ve been embracing a barely-there base all year and the Christmas days are no exception. To hide any redness or imperfections but still let my skin breathe, I opt for the Bobbi Brown Skin foundation.

A little touch of light

I don’t need much concealer these days as my skin is quite happy and my sleep pattern is quite healthy. I simply use the YSL Touche Eclat to brighten up some areas: under my eyes, my brow bone and the tip of my nose. This is not a concealer if you’re hoping for a lot of coverage but it’s perfect to brighten up and open your look. I got the special Dazzling Lights edition and it’s literally the cutest packaging ever.

The festive glow

I’m quite easy on highlighter these days. I prefer a natural glow over a disco-ball. However, for the Christmas days I do like to use the L’Oréal Paris Glow Drops because they’re super easy to apply on your cheekbones and catch the light in a beautiful, dreamy way. I apply a bit straight from the applicator on my cheeks and then dab it into the skin with my fingers or a Beauty Blender. The Glow Drops are part of the L’Oréal Merry Metals collection which I L-O-V-E!

Starry eyes

Also from the L’Oréal Merry Metals collection is their Metallic Eye Paint. I really love this because I’m quite a difficult one when it comes to eyeshadow. I mostly go for a matte and warm shade all over the lid or a bit more in the crease and stay far away from glitters and sheen. But the Eye Paint is super easy to wear and you have full control over how heavy you like to apply and blend it. That way, your eyelids are starry and chique in less than a minute.

My favourite mascara for ultra long, voluminous lashes must be the Lancome Monsieur Big. My eyelashes are exactly as stated: BIG!

The finishing touch

Christmas is the perfect time to go a bit heavier on the lips and I will then usually choose a red. The YSL Dazzling Lights Edition lipstick is a stunner. The perfect bright but Winter-like red, easy to apply with a luxurious feel.

The sweet scent

I’m a big perfume lover so a spritz of a luxurious scent can’t be missed. For special occasions, I love the Lancome La Vie Est Belle L’Eclat because it’s super sweet on my warm skin and I get so many compliments whenever I wear it. And the bottle… So gorgeous!

Et voilà! All ready for the holidays with a minimal makeup look!
